The firm’s visionary founder and Managing Partner, Joseph Eve, is responsible for the success the firm enjoys today. As Managing Partner, Mr. Eve’s role is to set the direction of the firm, improve corporate culture, enforce firm values, and focus on recruitment and retention of key staff members and partners. In addition, he continues to manage a growing list of clients, pursues possible mergers and/or acquisitions of other CPA firms, and is a noted speaker on leadership.

Joe graduated from the University of Montana with a B.S. degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. Joe has been a Certified Public Accountant for the past 25 years and is currently licensed in Montana, South Dakota, North Dakota, Wyoming, California, Oklahoma, Kansas, Iowa, Michigan, and New York. He has been a Certified Fraud Examiner for the past 15 years. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Montana Society of CPAs.

The firms gaming partner, Grant Eve, is responsible for most of the firms hospitality engagements. Grant has several years of experience working with casino enterprises & private organizations. Prior to joining JOSEPH EVE, Grant worked in Las Vegas for Deloitte LLP, in the firm’s National Gaming Practice. He was responsible for the supervision of SEC Public Attestation Engagements, Private Entities, and consulting on the implementation of the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002.

Grant’s knowledge of the Gaming Industry has assisted clients in large casino operations, internet gaming, changes in gaming operations (both tribal and commercial), casino fraud, and more.

In November 2011, Grant received the honor of testifying in front of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs regarding Internet Gaming. Grant has also been the keynote speaker at a variety of tradeshows and events, such as the Great Plains Indian Gaming Association, the Oklahoma Indian Gaming Association, the Nation Indian Gaming Association (NIGA) Annual Tradeshow, NIGA Legislative Summit, NIGA Midyear and the NIGA’s Internet Gaming Subcommittee.

Grant received his Bachelor of Science Degree and his Masters from Montana State University; and is a member of the MT and NV State Boards of Accountancy, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Anthony Littlewhirlwind, is an Auditor and Grant Management Compliance Specialist with JOSEPH EVE. He joined the firm in 2001 after seven years as a grant accountant and Tribal Council Treasurer with the Northern Cheyenne Tribe in Montana. His area of expertise is auditing OMB federal grant compliance requirements and internal controls over federal awards.

Denis Adams, CPA, a Senior Audit Manager at JOSEPH EVE, is a valuable technical resource for the firm. A former Director of the Montana Department of Revenue, Adams also has 30 years of auditing and consulting experience with tribal governments and enterprises. He spent seven years as a tax commissioner and financial advisor to Montana’s Crow Tribe and now has returned to working with tribal clients in an advisory capacity.

Denis brings his vast experience and knowledge to his training sessions, where he helps participants keep up with current developments in auditing standards. His inside experience with tribal casinos means he knows the challenges of keeping current with the NIGC Minimum Internal Controls Standards (MICS) in the constantly changing casino environment. He also provides analytical tools to measure casino performance.

Denis is Past President of the Montana Society of Certified Public Accountants and Past Chairman of that organization’s Legislative Committee. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. A retired Captain in the United States Navy Reserve, he has many years’ experience with the Naval Audit Service, participating in audits from the Pentagon to Pearl Harbor.

Glen Galt, CPA, is the Manager of Internal Audits for JOSEPH EVE. Glen has 12 years of experience working with and in tribal gaming facilities as lead auditor, controller, CFO, co-general manager, and consultant. With his extensive and diverse experience, he is able to fuse his knowledge into a coherent, easy to understand, teaching experience for seminar participants. Glen utilizes real-life situations and experiences in his teaching and will have you laughing while being totally engaged in the point he is teaching. Glen enjoys being able to help casinos solve their problems and realize that his training has made a difference for a gaming establishment.

Glen’s most recent engagement was at Osage Million Dollar Elm Casinos, where he was the acting CFO. Mr. Cornelius, CEO at Osage, states “JOSEPH EVE has provided world class support, guidance, and efficiencies for our gaming operations.” Osage has seven casinos, one travel plaza, and a central services department.

Glen has extensive experience in training on subjects such as NIGC Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS), Title 31, and accounting for all transactions of money through the casino.

Phillip Collins, CPA, CFE is a Senior Accountant and has been with JOSEPH EVE for 4 years. He has been the in-charge for several governmental, casino, and other governmental enterprise audit jobs. He has also done consulting/internal audit work for both Casinos and Tribal Governments, which includes both governmental compliance and NIGC Minimum Internal Controls Standards (MICS) internal audits.

Phillip’s passions include researching accounting and auditing standards, data mining, and discussing internal control issues with his clients. Some of his recent favorite topics to research have included capital asset impairments and component units. Phillip enjoys using IDEA©, which is the data mining software that the firm uses. With the software, he can take general ledger detail for any of his clients, put it in a usable data format, and perform several data tests quickly and efficiently that allows him to spend more time auditing the riskier areas. He also enjoys creating simple macros and pivot tables using Excel© to perform various auditing and other business functions. He also enjoys discussing and writing about breaking-down organizational processes into the various internal control aspects and coming up with different options for his clients to consider.

Phillip graduated from the University of Utah with a Masters of Accountancy and a dual bachelors degree in accounting and finance. Phillip has been a Certified Public Accountant since 2007 and a Certified Fraud Examiner since 2008. Phillip is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Utah Association of CPAs, and Association of Fraud Examiners.

Joseph Busby is a Senior Consultant at JOSEPH EVE with over ten years of experience in Tribal and Commercial Gaming organizations. Prior to joining JE, he was the Director of Regulatory Compliance and Surveillance Operations for a group of large Tribal casinos, and has acted as a consultant both domestically and internationally in the field of internal audit.

He has extensive knowledge of the MICS, Bank Secrecy Act and internal controls. Joseph has also been involved in several casino fraud investigations that have been successfully prosecuted in both State and Federal Court, which is a skill set he learned during his eight years of service in law enforcement as a Deputy Sheriff and Investigator.

Joseph received his Master’s degree in Business Management from Faulkner University’s Harris Business College in Montgomery, Alabama, where he then served as an adjunct professor for approximately six years.

Joseph is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
