As a Senior Auditor you will be responsible for running audit engagements from start to finish. This includes: planning, fieldwork, wrap-up, drafting financial statements, etc. The Senior Auditors have the highest level of client interaction, and are instrumental in the growth and development of JE team members.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Perform detailed review of audit work papers
  • Responsible for creating the final audit report
  • Supervise 1-3 staff at client sites and draft financial statements
  • Proactively interact with the key client management team to gather information and make recommendations

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years RECENT auditing experience in a public accounting position
  • Government and/or tribal and/or gaming experience
  • BS or MS in Accounting
  • CPA license is preferred, CFE a plus
  • Proficiency in GAAP reporting standards, Single Audit Act Standards, and Government Auditing Standards.
  • Strong software skills in Word, Excel, and CaseWare
  • Excellent technical accounting skills
  • Strong leadership skills with a positive team player attitude

JOSEPH EVE is seeking a Finance & Accounting Outsourcing Manager located in our Billings, Montana office. As part of the Finance & Accounting Outsourcing team you are responsible for maintaining an excellent rapport with clients, partners, and staff to complete the highest level of accounting services.

Responsibilities: This position will provide the following services to our clients:

Provide supervision on day-to-day and month end closing activities of the FAO team to ensure timely and accurate reporting
Communicate frequently with FAO staff and client accounting staff via electronic review notes, comments, and email messaging to meet closing deadlines
Design and establish processes and procedures to meet the changing needs of the clients’ business environment
Ensure staff-prepared reconciliations of balance sheet and major income statement accounts are audit-ready
Draft financial statements and note disclosures in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for governments
Lead the development and preparation of client operating budgets, forecasts, and analysis of current results
Review sales tax returns, personal property tax returns, payroll tax returns, casino gaming withholding forms, or other regulatory forms as requested
Utilize cloud-based technologies for general ledger, document storage, communication, and checklist/reconciliation management
Manage multiple deadlines for a range of deliverables while adhering to time budgets and allotments
Qualifications:

Minimum of 5+ years in business process outsourcing (BPO)
Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); knowledge of Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB), National Indian Gaming Commission Minimum Internal Control Standards (NIGC MICS) and the gaming industry a plus
Working knowledge of computer-based accounting systems with recent transactional experience; Intacct experience a plus
Recognition of the relative risks of transaction classes, account balances, or specified transactions
Experience reading and interpreting government regulations, tax forms, and other material to reach actionable conclusions
Demonstrates strong analytical capabilities with a high attention to detail
Ability to work well within a team; experience working as part of a remote or virtual team a plus
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required; CPA license required
Strong Microsoft Office proficiency is required, with an emphasis on Excel
